Friends of Glenrose Supports Refresh of Specialized Geriatrics Unit 3C Patient Lounge
In the summer of 2017, the Patient Care Manager for Specialized Geriatrics – Geriatric Psychiatry, Unit 3C began consultations with an Alberta Health Services (AHS) Capital Furnishings Planner to develop a plan for updating the patient lounge area on Unit 3C. The goal was to create a space that was more welcoming/comfortable for patients, and compliant with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) recommendations. Once furniture/ finishing was selected, Friends of Glenrose was approached to see if they would be willing to financially support a portion of this project. After meeting and reviewing plans, Friends of Glenrose agreed to fully support the project. Now that the transformation is complete, feedback from patients and staff feedback have been overwhelmingly positive. The atmosphere is very calming, and patients are able to enjoy the space as intended. We would once again like to extend our sincere thank you to the Friends of Glenrose for their support in this project!
